Bologna
Located in Emilia-Romagna,
in northern Italy, in the Pianura Padana, between the Po River and the Apennines, Bologna developed along the Via Emilia as an Etruscand and Roman Colony. The city had its climax in the medieval times, and many remains still witness its wellness. Bologna main sights are its Two Towers, which are the landmark of the city. Another important monument is the Saint Petronio Church, the fifth biggest church in the World.
Bologna is also famous for its arcades (porticos) which allow padestrian to walk for about 38 Km sheltered from rain, snow or sun in the summer.
Bologna is an important railway and motorway hub in Italy. The city's Fair District one of Italy's biggest, with important international exhibitions, like the Motorshow (Cars and Motorcycles), and Cosmoprof (beauty culture, considered the most important in the world).
Bologna is also home to one of Italy's most important Universities, which was founded in the 11th Century, making it one of the oldest in the whole World.
